Plot: Go-getter Keshav (Akshay) serenades liberal-thinker Jaya (Bhumi), a woman from his neighbouring village in Uttar Pradesh. They marry but it doesn’t strike Keshav to tell her that his house doesn’t have a toilet. This then becomes the grounds for Jaya to file for a divorce.



Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is inspired by a true incident reported from Madhya Pradesh village a few years ago, but little that it offers by way of insight rings true. Some of the dialogues are cringe-worthy, the dramatic moments gratingly shrill, and the solutions utterly facile. Readmore



it’s a story that delivers a really important message about personal hygiene and proper sanitation system in rural areas. It’s just that we hear the messages clearly in the first 50 minutes.
